Spring Maintenance Checklist for Lake Homes

Getting ahead of seasonal upkeep can save money and reduce stress once lake traffic picks up.

As Spring is now here it is a good time to go around your property to check for any leaks or any damage that may have occurred and sorted before things start hotting up. It is always best to fix any cracks, water damage etc before they become more serious problems for the owner.

Check Paint and Trim

Check for scratches, peeling, flaking or water damage on walls. Paint those high-visibility areas (around light switches and electrical outlets) and the bathrooms for a face lift and a fresh look.

Inspect Floors and Entry Areas

Most new homes feature flooring in entry, hallways and great rooms. It is recommended to repair or replace any damaged flooring prior to incurring wear from pre-emptive entertaining.

Wash Exterior Surfaces

After a long winter it is time to power wash many outdoor building elements, Docks, Decks, Siding, Walkways and Patios to remove dirt and grime. Cleaning will reveal any damage that may have occurred and show what refinishing is required.
